A Mooring Licence is required from NSW Roads & Maritime.

A basic Mooring in Lake Macquarie consists of the following –

  • Concrete Block
  • Approx. 3 – 5 metres of Heavy Duty large link ground Chain ( 28 – 35mm )
  • Heavy Duty Shackle
  • 16mm intermediate Chain
  • Heavy Duty Shackle
  • Heavy Duty Swivel
  • Rope or chain Bridle
  • Protective Sleeving
  • Float Rope
  • NSW Maritime approved Buoy with Licence number clearly shown.

 

SERVICING OF MOORINGS in LAKE MACQUARIE

Mooring Inspections & Services – 

Proceedure –

  • Owner contacted when service is due.
  • Vessel is suitably fendered & rafted alongside our Mooring vessel securely.
  • Mooring vessel is held in position (spudded) so mooring block can be put back into original location.
  • Mooring gear is winched onto deck.
  • All parts are inspected & cleaned.
  • Any parts worn beyond 20% (15% in high electrolysis areas) of their original condition or showing excessive chaffing are replaced (where possible, photos are taken)
  • Mooring Block placed back into original bedded postion.
  • Vessel re-attached and weighted (pulled back snug on mooring).
  • All shackles are either welded or heat peaned over & all are moused. Chaffed areas are sleeved with protective sleeving.
